Recycled Handwoven Bags

These recycled handwoven bags give old textiles a second life. Antique embroidered fabrics, mirror work and patchwork panels are stitched into sturdy totes, and vintage Kutchi Banjara embroidery is set on handwoven sabai grass.

Many of the bags are made by women rebuilding their lives, including survivors of domestic violence, single mothers and widows. Because each piece starts from a unique textile, no two bags are ever the same.
