Support the voiceless animals at Risk: The Story of Suman and His 80 Rescued Dogs.

At Daroonjinish, we have always believed that a business should contribute positively to the community around it. While our work revolves around preserving India's handmade crafts and supporting artisans, we also believe that compassion should extend beyond our products.

This time, we are extending our support to someone who has quietly dedicated himself to rescuing and caring for abandoned animals.
Meet Suman – A Guardian for Rescued Animals
Every day, countless stray and abandoned dogs struggle to survive on our streets. Some have been abandoned by families they once trusted. Others have been rescued from neglect, abuse, or irresponsible breeding. While many of these animals never get a second chance, nearly 80 rescued dogs have found safety because one person chose to dedicate his life to them.
That person is Suman Bhattacharya.
For years, Suman has been rescuing, feeding, and caring for abandoned and injured dogs. What began as an act of kindness has grown into a daily responsibility of providing food, shelter, medicines, and veterinary care for nearly 80 rescued animals.

For these animals, rescue is only the beginning. Their care continues every single day.
The Reality Behind Every Rescue
Looking after 80 rescued dogs requires constant effort and significant resources.
Every day, these animals need:
- Fresh food and meat
- Medicines and veterinary care
- Treatment for injuries and illnesses
- Nutritional supplements
- Regular health check-ups
- Safe shelter and daily care
Every Sunday, a feeding drive is organised to ensure all the rescued dogs receive nutritious meals. However, their needs continue throughout the week, making daily support equally important.

Initiative by: Balaram Saha, in collaboration with Daroonjinish Handicrafts, Fashion Redefined, and Jet Setters.
This initiative is a collective effort to support the remarkable work of Suman Bhattacharya, who has dedicated himself to rescuing, feeding, and caring for nearly 80 abandoned and injured dogs. While we are not an NGO or an animal welfare organisation, we believe in using our platforms to raise awareness and encourage compassionate individuals to contribute towards the daily food, medicines, and veterinary care these rescued animals require. Every contribution made through this initiative goes directly towards supporting the animals under Suman's care, helping them live healthier, safer, and more dignified lives.
We believe that meaningful change often begins by supporting individuals who dedicate their lives to helping others.
